We are delighted to announce MIND is coming to Chantry House in 2020. The mental health charity have provided support and advice to people suffering from mental illness for over 60 years.

Through their campaigns, including government lobbying, their work has helped change the perception around this illness. They help provide access to information and advice that has already touched millions of people.

Chantry House will be hosting two of MIND’s workshops over various dates starting in March next year:

> Mental Health and First Aid Training
> Managing Stress at Work and in Your Life

They’re suitable for individuals and groups and we have a number of dates confirmed already up to May 2020. The workshops vary in length from half-a-day to two days. You’ll learn a range of techniques which can help you cope with your own issues and also help you to recognise symptoms and advise others who may be suffering.

Our luxurious, comfortable and secluded location means you can truly get away from everyday life and immerse yourself in these courses. The tools you’ll learn will help you to take a proactive approach to managing mental health at home and at work.

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health, how to assist someone who may be experiencing mental illness and provide help on a first aid basis, while effectively guiding someone towards the right support services.

This course is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health and all of the trainers have completed the MHFA England Instructor Training programme. The course is split up into four manageable chunks:

> Suicide and Depression
> Anxiety Disorders
> Psychosis (including Schizophrenia)
> Bipolar

Due to the sensitive nature of some of the subjects, places are limited to 16 people and everyone can opt out of any activity they’re not comfortable with. A small group also means the trainers can give every participant the necessary time and support they need through their learning.

This workshop is available as a 1-day or 2-day course, with prices starting at £200 per person. All refreshments are included, along with access to our stunning grounds.

Managing Stress at Work and in Your Life is a four-hour course helping you to understand why you get stressed or find life tough going. You’ll learn effective techniques to help you make the changes you want. Discover how to get that ‘zing’ for life back again!

This workshop is designed for a minimum of six participants, up to a maximum of 12. The price is just £150 per person.

Whether as an individual, a group of friends or work colleagues, these courses will teach you simple yet highly effective techniques to help yourself, or others, deal better with mental health issues.
